Film & Folklore Festival will be at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival
JULY 10, 2021
Port of Spain, 9th July 2021: The Film and Folklore Festival (FFF) has been invited to the Film Festivals from the West Mixer at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year.

At the event FFF founder, Leslie-Ann Wills-Caton, will talk about the festival along with three other Film Festivals from the West. The event will take place on Sunday July 11 at 9 am Trinidad and Tobago time via Zoom.

Cannes Film Festival is one of the leading international film industry stage and marketplaces and the Film and Folklore Festival, which recently held its 3rd annual festival in May, was invited by the 12°N61°W (1261) Film Festival to be a part of the Festivals Meetup at Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes. The FFF partnered with 1261 in 2019 in Brooklyn, Massachusetts and UK with the 1261 Caravan where the festival represented TT with the film The Hike as well as promoted the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company Limited (FilmTT) with a video on its rebate incentives and swag bags (tokens representing FilmTT and Trinidad and Tobago). The 12°N61°W (1261) Film Festival, in partnership with Pavillion Afriques, will host the "Film Festivals from the West" virtual mixer during the Cannes Film Festival. This event is a significant opportunity for all the participating festivals, TT and the Caribbean at large as it aims to introduce independent black film festivals from the Western hemisphere and promote content from the Caribbean and African diaspora with the shared goal of creating an economic ecosystem for its filmmakers and producers. “I am beyond thrilled to be representing both the Film and Folklore Festival, as well as Trinidad and Tobago, in such a well know film industry arena.” said Film and Folklore Festival Founder, Leslie-Ann Wills-Caton.
